Welcome! I am a professionally trained jeweler and all of my artisan jewelry is handmade by me in my studio. Wear your handcrafted jewelry with gentle care, and it will last a
lifetime.
How do I clean my jewelry?
I do not recommend commercial jewelry cleaning products (especially liquid dips).
These products will damage many of the gemstones I use (especially pearls and opals). These products can also affect the polish or oxidized finish I used to create your jewelry.
If necessary, I recommend cleaning your jewelry using a soft toothbrush with water and mild dish soap if needed.
When should I remove my jewelry?
• Remove your jewelry when using all household-cleaning products. The harsh chemicals they contain can damage gemstones and can dull bright finishes or remove the oxidized finish I use on my jewelry pieces.
• Remove your jewelry when applying perfume, lotions, oils and any other beauty
products. In fact, I recommend you do not use any of these beauty products when
wearing all jewelry with pearls & opals.
• I advise removing all your jewelry when swimming or bathing. Salt water and chlorine in particular, will adversely affect all of your jewelry. Hmmmm… That’s why all my silver
jewelry turns grey after swimming in the local pool!
• Remove your jewelry (especially rings!) when engaging in sports activities, gardening, heavy house repairs, working on the car…You get the drift; these activities will dent, and scratch your jewelry. I don’t care what you were told – diamonds can crack and platinum will scratch!
How do I maintain that gorgeous finish?
All Oxidized (blackened) finishes are not permanent and can fade over time depending on wear. These pieces can easily be re-oxidized by me and or any qualified jeweler. With bright polished finishes, use a soft, jewelry polishing cloth. Schedule appointments as needed – all jewelry should be maintained (polished or oxidized) and checked for other possible issues (loose stones etc.) on a regular basis by a qualified jeweler… Especially rings!
Can I wear my rings daily?
Lets face it, out of all your jewelry; your rings take the most abuse! There are rings I design that are considered “special occasion” rings that you would probably not wear on a daily basis. On the flip side, many of my rings, and especially wedding rings, are designed for daily use. How often you plan on wearing your jewelry is an important consideration and discussion you should have when purchasing all your jewelry.
